The company directors are highly experienced ex-military professionals with backgrounds in British Special Forces units and the elite Royal Military Police (RMP) Close Protection Unit. In conjunction with this each director has extensive experience in the private sector working within law enforcement, and specialist government services including SOCA and HM Customs. PRL directors have extensive specialist security experience at both ground operator and project management level, in operations ranging from low profile executive protection to managing deployments in some of the world's most hostile environments.

Licensing for people working in the close protection sector came into effect in 2006. It is a criminal offence to work in England without a Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence. PRL complies with the provisions of the PSIA 2001.
